Maple is a light, strong wood with a fine structure. It offers a calm spinning experience because the wood has a very consistent texture. In Size 4, the spindle feels robust: it doesn’t pull too hard on your thread, but the larger diameter ensures it spins for a very long time. For a Size 4, this spindle is relatively light, making it a joy to use for thicker singles and art yarn.
