Description
The lightweight among the larger spindles. Cherry is a fruitwood and naturally super airy. The perfect move if you want a spindle that isn’t heavy by itself.
- The Vibe: Warm, light, and comfortable.
- The Wood: Cherry is a classic: fine-grained and very low in mass.
- Match: Your go-to for long spinning sessions and projects that require a light touch.
Size & Weight (Cherry)
Because cherry wood is so light, these spindles are surprisingly manageable. In size 3 (22-29 grams), this is the ideal spindle for those who find a size 2 too small, but a size 4 too bulky. Large in size, yet super light.
| Size | Weight | Diameter | Your Spinning Experience |
| 2 | 17 – 19 gram | 7,5 cm | A balanced all-rounder in size 2. Built for superfine spinning and beyond. |
| 3 | 22 – 29 gram | 12 cm | Size 3 allrounder; Spin for hours. Pure comfort, zero effort. |
| 4 | 30 – 39 grams | 13,5 cm | Surprisingly light for its size; perfect for art yarns and volume. |
Why Cherry?
Cherry is a fruitwood, which is always lighter than, for example, Olive or Kauri. A spindle that doesn’t feel clunky is a joy to work with: you have the space on the arms, but it remains responsive. The warm, reddish glow of the wood only becomes more beautiful over the years.
The design: Model Aphrodite
Named after the goddess of love.
In terms of weight distribution, the Aphrodite sits exactly between the Athena and Artemis models. Combined with the low weight of cherry wood, this ensures a subtle spinning experience. It reacts instantly to your flick and maintains a very even rotation.
The details
- The Shaft: Walnut with the smart taper to keep your single in place.
- The Finish: Natural hardwax oil. It brings out the deep color of the wood while keeping it tactile and warm.
- Sustainability: I use local wood whenever possible. Better for the planet.
