Description
White yak is a true rarity, and when dyed in soft pastel tones, it becomes something truly magical. Because of the pure white base of the yak, the colors remain bright and airy, almost like a colorful little cloud. The result is a fiber that is a treat for the eyes and has remained buttery soft despite the dyeing process. Yak is as warm and fine as cashmere but possesses its own unique, high-end character.
Spinning Experience
Spinning this white yak feels like working with a soft, pastel-colored cloud. The fibers are short and fine, so we recommend using a light touch and a short forward draft. You’ll notice that even after the dyeing process, the yak has kept its signature buttery soft feel. The finished yarn is perfect for next-to-skin projects like luxury scarves, hats, or warm cowls in dreamy pastel hues.
Which spindle suits this fiber?
Since white yak is so fine and precious, you really want maximum control over your thread. We recommend using a size 0 or 1 Turkish spindle. These smaller, lighter spindles provide the speed needed to give the short fibers enough twist without the weight snapping the delicate thread.

Care & Colors
Washing
We recommend hand washing your finished yarn or projects. Since this is non-superwash yak, it will felt in the washing machine. By washing by hand, your projects will not only keep their shape, but the hand-dyed colors will stay vibrant and beautiful much longer.
Colors
Our fibers are hand-dyed in small batches. This may result in slight color variations between different dye lots. You will receive a product comparable to the photos, though please keep in mind that colors on your screen (phone or computer) may differ slightly from the actual product in real life.
