Description
The Artemis model is named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, women, and the moon. Just one look at the shape of this spindle, and you’ll see why this goddess is the perfect namesake for this Turkish spindle. This model combines strength with balance and versatility.

Features of the Artemis model
The Artemis features a slight weight shift toward the center, giving it extra momentum. This makes it ideal for spinning thicker yarns or for a spindle that keeps spinning powerfully during plying. Despite its strong design, the Artemis spins smoothly, evenly, and wobble-free – always perfectly balanced.
The shaft and finishing
The shafts of my spindles are made from walnut or hickory. Hickory is an exceptionally strong wood, making spindles with hickory shafts highly durable. At the tip of the shaft, there’s a small bulge to easily secure your single. Each spindle is finished with a durable hardwax oil, giving it a soft, warm sheen, preserving the natural beauty of the wood, and providing excellent protection.
Quality and shipping
The spindle you receive will be similar to the one pictured. Before shipping, I carefully inspect each spindle for balance and finish. Spindles in sizes 1 and 2 are always shipped in a fitting, charming, and recycled tin – perfect for safe storage and a delightful surprise upon arrival!
